Application:
Bleaching agent 623(Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) has double effect of both free radical termination and hydroperoxide decomposition. It means that it has the double functions of both the primary antioxodant and the secondary antioxidant.and it is also a kind of disulfide compunds.so it t act as vulcanization agent,anti-crystallization agent, antioxidant, catalysts in the manufacturing of light-colored rosin, disproportionated rosin, rosin resin, rosin esters, resins, adhesives, petroleum oil and waxes and deep processing.
characteristics
The effects of antioxidation and color-fade of rosin and rosin resins (such as Glycerol ester of rosin, rosin pentaerythritol ester and malic acid resins) can be improved by adding Bleaching agent 623 (Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) with the amount of 0.2% to 0.3%, causing the color to improve with the subtractive effect achieving 2 to 3 units in the Gardner color scale.
Disproportionation of rosin: Bleaching agent 623 (Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) is an efficient catalyst for the disproportionation of rosin. It converts instable conjugated double bond in the rosin molecule into stable conjugated double bond with an aromatic ring structure, which means to convert the abietic acid into dehydroabietic acid.
The dosage of Bleaching agent 623 (Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) in the process is 0.1% to 0.3%, and optimum amount is 0.2%. Precious metals (such as platinum, palladium) used as disproportionation catalysts could be expensive. Bleaching agent 623 (Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) is an ideal substitute with good quality and low costs.
Anti-crystallization of rosin: Rosin is a non-crystalline transparent solid, but it tends to crystallize. Crystallization of rosin causes a reduction in rosin’s transparency and solubility, affecting its usage. Adding 0.2% Bleaching agent 623 (Nonylphenol Disulfide Oligomer) to the rosin can improve its anti- crystallization performance.
